ScanTract lodges consumer report with the ACCC
ScanTract submitted a consumer report to the ACCC concerning proposed changes to outright-purchased Fetch Gen 3 devices, following its written complaint to Fetch.
On 28 October 2026, ScanTract lodged a consumer report with the ACCC about Fetch’s announced changes for some privately purchased Gen 3 devices.
Our report asked the regulator to consider concerns about the introduction of new financial conditions, original sales representations, the consequences of service suspension and deactivation, consumer expectations and possible effects on recordings.
Fetch’s published policy describes a one-time, non-recurring $29.99 Extended Service Levy per household. It asks affected retail customers to choose an option by 31 October 2026, and says access to the Fetch service will be suspended in November if no action is taken. Its policy also describes possible permanent deactivation following continued inaction.
Submitting the report does not itself establish an Australian Consumer Law breach or require the ACCC to investigate. The ACCC will decide how to use the information it receives.
We will monitor further correspondence and publish verified developments. Consumers who wish to report their own experience can use the ACCC reporting guide on this page.
