ACCC acknowledges ScanTract’s consumer report
The ACCC has acknowledged receipt of ScanTract’s report about the Fetch Gen 3 changes. An acknowledgement is not an investigation, finding or decision about a legal breach.
On 29 October 2026, ScanTract received an acknowledgement that its consumer report about changes affecting outright-purchased Fetch Gen 3 devices had been received by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
The report raised concerns about the new financial conditions and possible loss of access to services associated with hardware purchased outright. The acknowledgement confirms receipt; it does not say that the ACCC has opened an investigation or found a contravention.
The ACCC records consumer reports to identify potential patterns of harm. It generally does not resolve individual complaints and does not make formal legal determinations of whether a business has breached the law.
We are retaining our correspondence and tracking any further regulator communication. We are also awaiting a substantive written reply from Fetch. We will publish material developments, clearly distinguishing company and regulator responses from our own assessment.
